Saturday May 20

From the walk diary:

"When I planned the walk, I had set this day aside as a rest day, firstly so that I could put some walk photos and news up on the website, secondly just in case all the walking so far had put a strain on my ankle (when you have had previous injuries it is sensible not to overdo it too much) and thirdly because of time constraints in regard to the people at Fullabrook.

When I had planned the walk they asked if i could be “low profile” about the site because they were planning to do a big walk across it not long after. In the event, because the Inquiry was delayed , this didn't happen until November, but we weren't to know that then.

What was arranged was a Reception for me, up on Ash Down on Tuesday, which meant I could not leave the area until after then. This was great but in fact it also meant that I could not start for South Molton until the Wednesday after, rather than the Tuesday as planned originally, so I had to leave out a planned walk over Codden Hill and through Swimbridge and use the bus for that section instead. This was Ok as still "Green" but I had wanted to walk it  (I did it later)

So, I had a "rest" day, even if it was an exhausting one... working on the PC is in someways more tiring than walking, at least it feels that way to me.

I did also go down to town with my friend Carol and bought her coffee and some maple pecan pastries in Marks and Spencers as it was her birthday yesterday."
