barnstaple from tarka Trail

About the Tarka Trail and the Taw Estuary

The Tarka Trail starts at Branstaple in North Devon. It follows the path used by Tarka the Otter in Henry Williamson`s book, and includes stretches of the old railway lines. Among places it visits are Ilfracombe, Bideford, Yorrington and Hatherleigh, and I walked along parts of it several times during my walk.
