The Denbrook Group

Meeting the Den Brook Group
Meeting with members of the Den Brook Action Group Committee on the Sunday afternoon (photo by Muriel Goodman). We were also photographed and interviewed by Alan Quick, of the Crediton Country Courier.

I stayed Monday night with Maureen Thomson (standing next to me, holding a cup) and we went to a very interesting evening event at Sampford Courtney (about the Prayer Book Rebellion). I met several of the people in this photo again that evening, but unfortunately did not have my camera with me.

Denbrook view
This is a view across towards the valley where the developers want to site the turbines, with the hills of Dartmoor in the distance beyond.  These turbines would be 394 feet high  and would completely alter the chracter of this rural area.

While I was in North Tawton the group were still waiting to hear if the developers would appeal against the decision by West devon Council to turn down their application to build these 9 turbines.
News came later in the week that an appeal would go ahead.

2007 After a Public Inquiry in the autumn , this February the shock news came that the Inspector had allowed the appeal.
This is not the endthough
