Sheep graze in a field parallel to the turbine site at Beech Farm

The proposal was for two  1.3 MW turbines, 230ft high (70.1m) on land at Beech Farm, Lamerton, near Tavistock, close to Brent Tor.

This was the second proposal, an earlier application had been refused. The applicants had appealed, but then withdrawn their appeal before the Public Inquiry.

It was turned down by West Devon Borough Council, but the developers appealed again. The Public Inquiry started in April 2006 at Tavistock but was adjourned until October.

On Saturday`s walk I also passed through Lifton. There are no live applications here, but there was a previous application for 5 x 5kw turbines (time expired)
