Marie Hutchings, with Paris
From
the walk diary:
Wednesday May 17th
The
photograph on the left is of Sue.
My last morning
with Marie – and I felt sad to leave, she had been so thoughtful,
given me such a good time. I had felt very much at ease staying with
her, and especially grateful because now that she has the turbines,
she has to live with them, and almost (ironically as the name of the
protest group is BLOT) to mentally blot them out. Once they are built
you cannot let them define your life, if you are going to stay
healthy, mentally. So maybe it would have been better for me to
encourage her to like them.
We had talked so much that I
felt I had
known her for ages. I took photographs of the puppies before I left,
and said I would put them up on the website. I was also sad saying
goodbye to Paris and Sue as well, they are sweet dogs who had become
friends. I left at twelve. Marie wanted to make me sandwiches but
Sue, at my next stop had offered me something to eat when I arrived,
so instead I came away with the gift of an apple, and some nice
spring water."
The photo on the right is of one of the puppies.
2007 update:
Sue has had more puppies so if
anyone is interested in buying one, contact me and I will pass
the message on to Marie.
